Mermaid Verse

music flows from lips and as words meet sound bound and found me, your eyes wide open, soul sprightly greeting thee….

“Root down, underground

Burrow through hard earth

Cold and rocky

Dark and dirty

Something to explore

On that path through

Tough crust

The plates they shifted and shook

Spaces expanded on hot heat planet

Feeling something more

Roots created tunnels

Through tough packed soil

Moved closer to the core

Where they cracked through burning inferno

With red hot glow

Hearing internal roar

Of the raging lava

Energized and moving, churning and soothing

Over smooth stone surface

The depths of unknown heat, waves of molten rock meet

Spilling over earthly pores

Down at the center the blazing fire burned

For life, for love, for all the things

That summertime lovers bring

Full of explosive heat

Bodies whip and weep

Over feverish romantic lore.” – Megan Marie Seaman
