Mermaid Verse

music flows from lips and as words meet sound bound and found me, your eyes wide open, soul sprightly greeting thee….

“Golden strange light

Shimmered around your name

Written on the page

In indigo

I knew in time it would glow

Strong bright and consuming

The space

That held us in its arms

And warmed our skin

That had gotten so thin

Scared and scarred from

Cold weathered days

Dark grey clouds billowing above

For what seemed forever

But you said you wouldn’t go, never

Yes, you would stay, stay and grow

With me

Learning longing to get close

To know more

Getting to the core

Of what is, was, and will be

‘Cause it’s all inside our bones

a mystery waiting to be seen,

finally, by you and by me

the forest from the trees

And the woods from the sandy beach,

Which lies in love with the sea

Salty and invigorated

Flowing freely

Warm waters wave so sweetly

And sing their quiet song

Of lost love

now found

Reunited

In the warm golden dawn.” – Megan M. Seaman
