Mermaid Verse

music flows from lips and as words meet sound bound and found me, your eyes wide open, soul sprightly greeting thee….

Awaken (1-27-2012) by Megan Seaman

“Heard a song dance on air

Swooning, booming, instantly tuning

Into juicy moving

And sweeping our bodies high, high, high

And higher we drifted

Lifted by some epiphany

Some faraway future

Realized in a moment’s notice

Ghosts of past desires and debts

Let go and left

Goodbye

And say hi, hello, bonjour, salut

To sunny days and you

Your most wondrous self

Arrived and alive

Living each breath through the mess

Created with shut eyes

Closed hearts, dark souls

Now a start to what is, ‘cause this

Is all we’ve got!” – Megan Marie Seaman

Boy (6-5-2011) by Megan Seaman

“Boy! You got it all figured out.

Even with heavy heart, you plant your seeds, and bear your fruit.

Boy! You got it comin’ to you.

Your arrogance seen as confidence, and you move through the world with your flow.

Boy! You’ll make them weep.

They’ll see you, smell you, taste you, touch you, hear you in all your glory.

Boy, oh, boy, I wish I were you.

‘Cause being me is just too real for me to bear.” – Megan Marie Seaman

What’s another name (7-4-2011) by Megan Seaman

“What’s another name for Space?

They said, “Room, Opening, Empty, Void.”

I sit here solid on my bottom

Floating from my top

My middle in between

Time, time, time

What’s another name for Knowing?

She said, “Wisdom, Insight, Awareness, Erudition.”

Then is that what I sense as I lie here

Feeling the dry empty air

Inside my gut

Waiting to escape

Come to me out of this thick heat

Swim to me through the weight of

This atmosphere

Sticky dense reality

I’m ready to make you mine

What’s another name for Love?

He said, “Connection, Relation, Completion, Om.”

I tremble here and you touch my hand

Blue violet heat explodes in my chest

You kiss my lips

The deal is sealed.” – Megan M. Seaman

All Motion is Relative (6-10-2011) by Megan Seaman

“Oh, the shadows go and disappear behind me

Eye open, eye open

And I see now the beckoning terrain

The journey that has been mine for

36 years.

Oh, the waves crash to shore and sprightly greet me

I open, I open

And my heart dives into the sea

The home that I left behind for

100 years.

Who was I then? Who am I now?

Why open? Why open?

And the fear returns with all its darkness and suspicion that has haunted me for

1,000 years.

Oh, but the Universe has been expanding

Pry open, pry open

And it continues to expand until the heat that caused it to swell burns itself out in

1,000,000 years.” – Megan M. Seaman

Don’t Fall in Love with a Rockstar (6-7-2011) by Megan Seaman

“I’ll tell you a story!

Said, I’ll tell you a song

One that started from two points

At a distance, all along.

That boy, you see

That, there man

Was growing his awkward existence

The best he could, the best he can.

And then, there was the girl

The girl, that crazy cat

She spent years and moments between right and wrong

A sad story prolonged by a guy named Matt.

But then…

That girl, you see

And that there man

It was destiny that was workin’

It was all part of the “plan.”

The Cats Cradle would rock

One starry summer night

Two eyes would meet

Two hearts would take flight

Floating fireworks flushed away in sound

And brief words of a “great show”

Then they would part, unaware

Little did they know

That the twinklings of a magic mystery had begun

And this was only the start

That their eyes would meet and hands would touch

And repair their broken hearts

So, I’ll tell you a story!

Said, I’ll tell you a song.

This one has a happy ending

Now together, all along.” – Megan M. Seaman

These Hands (6-26-2011) by Megan Seaman

“I like my naked fingers

All pink all bare

Silver and gold is gone

Weight of your misery is absent

From these hands.

And they move freely across my skin

Exploring the bumps and hairs and scars

That you could never love

The skin that was frigid, cold

Now, thawing

from inside out.

I think of you and remember

A heat a fire

It started from a spark or what you called love

Looking back, it was friction

The kind created from opposition

Of two surfaces.

But

What I felt was real.

My eyes were open.

I saw what was there.

Or it was my blood, my open heart

My very soul that I gazed upon.

My hope and idealistic dream.

Fuck it.

I’m alive. I’m warm.

Fleshy, moving, opening up my skin

With these very fingers

You could never

Hold.

What I feel is no longer

A fire, but

A glowing energy

A sun

A star

A blazing heat,

Deep deep deep

Within me.” – Megan Marie Seaman
