Mermaid Verse

music flows from lips and as words meet sound bound and found me, your eyes wide open, soul sprightly greeting thee….

About The Mermaid

The Mermaid behind Mermaid Verse is a cool cat by the name of Megan M. Seaman. Born a Seaman, but truly a Mermaid, she has been inspired by the the travelers on the vast ocean and magical lands that she has come to know along the way. From the Midwest of the Great USA, her heart is in the Northeast — and that is where she is headed, one knot at a time.

Megan enjoys playing with words and expressions of the heart – even if it’s not so great all the time. Each poem represents an element of experience in life – maybe some will relate, maybe some will be confused. But the poems are all momentary truths of whatever present reality is being imagined, created, and lived – in her perception, at least. Sometimes, she provides commentary on socio-economic-political situations, such as gender issues in the US and the 2nd Amendment. Whatever the topic, she is open to feedback and the points of view of all who care to share.

When Megan is not singing her verse, she devotes her life to helping other travelers on their journeys – children, youth, and their families – she teaches yoga and college courses in art therapy and counseling, and continues on the stormy seas of dissertation writing. She enjoys the energy of listening to music (and learning acoustic guitar) and spending time with her four felines, her niece, family, and friends. Furthermore, engaging in yoga and mediation practices, as well as being in nature inspire her to continue on her journey through the expansive seas not too far to reach.
