Mermaid Verse

music flows from lips and as words meet sound bound and found me, your eyes wide open, soul sprightly greeting thee….

Divine Suffering (1-17-13) by Megan Seaman

"angel came down from heaven, yesterday"

“angel came down from heaven, yesterday”

“The illusion of being Objective

Set up by a masculine kind

Who, when born She the God above,

He committed the Ultimate separation

And created the densest veil

And He was bitter as he looked

At his sisters who had kept

A piece of the Divine

And could go back any time to

The One.

But instead of examining His covered creation

He blamed his sisters because

He could not see Spirit

Or Allah or God

So took the name himself and

Invented the story of the rib

Pulled from He.

Then made Her pay for everyday

Of His Divine Suffering.” – Megan Marie Seaman

To Mess With Winter (12-1-2012) by Megan Seaman

“Lips covered

with sticky balm

So I’ll kiss you

with my nose and my cheek

Fingers separated by sheeps’ clothes

So I’ll touch you with boxing gloves,

No man to know the feel the forfeit and weak

Arms and chest hidden behind synthetic puffs

Made by faces of bombastic northerner race

So I’ll burrow into you with royal crown,

rest my tumid belly down,

While swollen wings bring you in my space

And the texture covered my lover’s legs

Like burlap or canvas or gunny sacks

So I’ll wrap the limbs that held me up

around his roots, my source, our backs

But even as the vines that crept through toes

They could not penetrate

So I’ll hold down the foot that would move so swift

Without question or motion to hesitate

and I should have known better

than to mess with winter

trying to bring the dead back to life.

Our souls to be the sacrifice.” – Megan Marie Seaman

Winter Loves Summer (December 10, 2011)

“I like to snuggle

Warm away from winter night

With you by fire bright.

Bare skin under sheet

Toes touch toes, knees and knees meet

Close together here.

Outside soft cover

Cold winds rattle windowpane.

Blustering again.

Freezing every bit

Of flesh exposed, bitter air

Searching for warm lair.

Burrow away down

Move from the frozen stone ground

Relief in the heat.

Bodies move closer

Hot hot hum fun, sweat and twist

Cinnamon sweet kiss.

Feel flushed flesh friction

Giving into addiction

Lust for fiery sun.

In your eyes I saw

Heaven and Hell became one

Veil that covered – gone.

Filled up with desire

Caught up in summery fire

And now I am burned.” – Megan Seaman
